Our clients health is very important to us here at RG Studio Clinic, any unusual pigmented age spots and moles may vary depending on size and colour are subject to physician clearance. It’s always important to have your physician look over these areas to ensure they’re safe for removal. RG Studio Clinic reserves the right to refuse service should the client cannot provide consent or medical clearance from a practicing physician. A consent or medical clearance can be in a form of a letter and must be signed by the practicing physician prior to your appointment.

RG Studio Clinic uses a method called Electrocautery to remove all unwanted skin lesions, including skin tags, moles, age spots, ruby points, broken capillaries, small blood vessels on the face and body, small and cosmetic tattoos and more.

Electrocautery is a treatment that uses a high frequency current to remove unwanted tissue, sealing off blood vessels and a variety of cosmetic procedures. It is typically preferred over others because the procedures can typically be completed in a cleaner and safer environment, it can also be less painful, and in some cases, pain free.

The probe from the electrocautery machine, which resembles a pen, is used to remove any unwanted skin lesions with out damaging the surrounding area. Only the heated tip comes in contact with the skin and the intense heat will seal the area, preventing bleeding and minimizing the risk of infection.

**It is very important to avoid taking any blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your procedure.**

Some discomfort and pain may occur during the procedure, but will vary depending on the individual. A numbing agent will be applied prior to the procedure to help ease the discomfort and pain. Some describes the feeling to that of being tattooed, except the procedure for each lesion lasts minutes at a time before it’s done, and that unwanted spot is gone before you know it. We recommend taking big breaths through your nose during the removal and to keep as calm and non-reactive as possible.

While larger moles may take 2 or 3 treatments before it’s gone, most all other lesions only require one treatment to completely remove it. Cosmetic tattoos and small tattoos on your body, the electrocautery method will help reduce them enough to be covered; however, some cosmetic tattoo removal may be completely removed anywhere from 2-5 treatments, depending on the existing colours, skin type and pigments already implanted.

**A consultation is required for all skin revision procedures to accurately quote on price and treatment requirements.**

For smaller lesions, the initial healing time for the scab to naturally come off on its own should take 2-3 days post procedure, since the scabs are very shallow on the surface of the skin and are already formed and closed off the moment it’s treated.

Larger lesions can take anywhere from 2-5 days, depending on the size and type of removed lesion.

After the scab falls off, there will be a red mark remaining that will gradually fade away anywhere from 2-8 weeks post-treatment as the skin regenerates. Depending on your skin type and if your skin is more pigmented the red marking will take longer to fade out completely.

In most cases, fully healed results should leave minimal to no scarring, as only the surface of the skin is treated and no underlying layers of skin are affected or destroyed.

There can be a higher risk of some minor scarring resulting from removing larger moles and lesions, specifically if it is located anywhere from below your chest and down. Your risk of scarring, along with any other questions or concerns you may have will be discussed during your consultation.

Dry Needling is another method we use to break down the tissue of the unwanted lines, scars, and stretch marks, stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen, elasticity, and even melanin. With repeated treatments the skin’s dermal layer grows back and thickens and restoring the properties it once lost.

This procedure is done using a cosmetic tattoo machine and the desired area to be treated is ‘needled’ with small, disposable needles, intentionally creating minor dermal damage and stimulating the production of collagen and elasticity in the skin as it repairs itself. The procedure is considerably fast as each area only needs to be treated one or two times unless scars are more deeper where more treatments are required. A numbing agent will be applied before the procedure to reduce the level of discomfort you may experience.

The treated area will be swollen, red and tender after procedure; however, it will start to reduce within 24 hours post-procedure and the scabbing will start to form and fall off after 4-5 days (light makeup can be worn durning this time to minimize marking). It is very important that you DO NOT pick off the scab and allow the treated area to heal properly and the scab falls off on its own. Once the scab falls off the treated area will continue to heal over 4 to 6 months, as the dermis regenerates to tighten and smoothen the skin by creating collagen and melanin.

You should start to see results and benefits of your treatments within 4-6 months. In some cases with fine lines and wrinkles only one treatment is needed to see results. For medium/deep wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks and other scarring, we recommend a minimum of 3 treatments, 3-6 weeks apart before noticing any results.

  • Dry needling is ideal for wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks, and larger/more noticeable scars.
  • Compared to collagen injection treatments, dry needling causes the skin to naturally produce its own collagen, thus creating much more natural looking results.
  • Results are similar to those of a chemical peel or laser treatments, only with dry needling there is less damage done to the epidermis, more blood vessels and healthy skin is left intact, which promotes faster healing and better long term results.
  • Dry needling can be used on very sensitive areas with no risk of injury or permanent trauma to the skin, including the lower eyelids, around the eyes, lips, neck, and the back of your hands.
  • Dry needling does not cause sun sensitivity, hyper-pigmentation, colour loss or thinning of the skin.

For best results with dry needling, it’s recommended to use Vitamin A and Vitamin C creams/drops 2-3 times daily to the treated areas throughout the entire healing period.
